Isla is walking a lot now, but still prefers the comfort of a hand or wall within reach. She does occasionally take a large number of independent steps continuously, but she's experimenting more with speed and balance during those chosen moments. Sometimes she'll walk independently, stop purposefully to get her bearings, and walk some more. Other times she'll giggle wildly as she practically runs towards me collapsing into my arms. We often see her standing while intensely inspecting something in her hand. She usually maintains her balance during these moments of "flow," but call her name and she may lose it as she cranes her neck to find you.
I just can't get over how little and big she is at the same time. She's growing up so fast but still seems way to small to be walking around.
