1st Halloween

Her first run with this holiday went well. She didn't mind the costume once she was in it. There was a bit of worry on our part that it wouldn't fit as M was smaller when she wore the turkey, but that wasn't an issue.

She did a bit of standing and was happy to reach into the offered candy, in some cases trying to take the entire bowl. Mostly she just observed all that was going on.

On a related note ... she is walking a bit. 6-10 independent steps here and there ... and she's pushing the baby stroller all over, which isn't weighted for new walkers like her wagon. She can maneuver forward and a bit from side to side but can't walk backwards yet so she does get stuck. I'm likely to find her frustratedly ramming the stroller into the wall or whatever is blocking her way when this happens. She seems to know she's a strong cookie and must think a little more force will get the job done.

Back to Halloween .... Earlier in the day before the girls were picked up from daycare, Ms. Jo saw a kid from their daycare approaching the door to trick-or-treat and had Isla "greet" him by holding her up to the door. What Jo didn't realize at the time was that said kid was dressed as a scary, bloody football player. Poor Isla just screamed.

The other day someone asked me if they were twins. Granted they were in costume so size was a little skewed and hair length was not visible. Isla was also in the front of the stroller, but this still surprised me. In 6-9 more months, yes, I think it will appear that way to most, but already? Hmmm

when they fight over who gets to push, M seems content to get in and let Isla take the "wheel"
